Since this was to be a mini family reunion, that became the hangout area for the kids when we weren’t swimming or exploring the area. This worked out great because we inherited a large space that the hotel moved a few chairs into. The type of rooms we had connected by closing off a door at the end of a hallway. Based on the age and configuration of the property, there aren’t a whole lot of connecting rooms, but my SPG Ambassador was able to make this happen for us. We had requested connecting rooms since we wanted some extra space. We hung out in a living room area, then went for a bite to eat and our rooms were ready shortly after lunch. The check-in process was straight forward, though our rooms weren’t quite ready. As soon as we walked in the front door we were greeted with hot apple cider and fresh-made donuts. There’s also a small parking lot in back, but during the winter, I doubt lugging in suitcases from there would end up being very fun. There’s a small driveway up front where valets can assist you with your luggage. For our stay we had rooms in the main building. The property is made up of a number of small buildings, some detached, including the Charles Orvis Inn and the 1811 house with a grand total of 195 rooms. ![]() The hotel constructed a special suite for his arrival but he was assassinated before the planned summer trip. ![]() Lincoln visited the hotel a couple of times before a joint trip with her husband was planned. The number would be five Presidents, as Mrs. Grant, Teddy Roosevelt and Benjamin Harrison. The hotel portion was given its current name when Franklin Orvis (yes, that Orvis) in 1853 dubbed it the Equinox House.įour US Presidents have stayed at the Equinox over the years, William Howard Taft, Ulysses S. I’ll be reviewing the restaurants at the hotel as well as activities in the area in a separate post. Located in a small town in the heart of ski country, the property dates back almost 250 years. The Equinox Resort in Vermont, located in Manchester Village, has been on our radar for quite some time. Generally speaking, they have historical or cultural significance, such as the Hotel Danieli in Venice. These are properties that usually don’t carry a flag, like Westin or Sheraton. One of the most special parts of Starwood Preferred Guest are the properties that comprise the Luxury Collection. I’m running way behind on posting this review as the snow in the pictures will tell you. Outfit Details: DRESS: Leith (wearing size XS, also have it in black!) // SCARF: Plaid Blanket Scarf (old – similar options) // NECKLACE: c/o Baublebar XL Monogram // RINGS: Gorjana stacking rings // LIPS: YSL No.If you’re in the US, you’ll know it’s already pretty hot through most of the country. Have any of y’all ever stayed there or heard of it? It’s SUCH a little treat and we’re for going back either next year or the following during leaf peeping season again :) We ran out of time before we could give the fancy one a shot, but I’ve heard it’s yummy! We did however get room service a few times during our stay and (like always) thoroughly enjoyed it! There are 2 restaurants at the Equinox – a more casual one and then a fancier one. To be honest, we weren’t too crazy about the in-house restaurants, but we loved getting a drink and sitting by the fire before heading into town for dinner each night. ![]() I want to go back next year and try out their Falconry class as I’ve heard SO MANY amazing things and have always wanted to learn more about Falconry. ![]() The Equinox resort is so quaint and even has a little bit of a southern feel to it – despite how far North it’s located! It was everything I’d hope it would be and more. We ended up staying here for 3 nights and loved every second of it. I had some friends stay at the Equinox a few years ago and I’d heard nothing but wonderful things about it – especially during late September and early October when the leaves are just starting to change! It was hard to pick which towns we wanted to visit along our trip but we knew we FOR SURE wanted to make a stop here, stay at the Equinox Resort and take an afternoon to do the Land Rover Experience (blog post coming next week!). During our most recent NE road trip through Vermont and down to Connecticut, we made a stop in Manchester for a few nights (city guide coming soon!).
